Manchester City target Claudio Bravo will undergo a medical at the club in the next 48 hours, "?according to Sky Sports.

Providing there are no complications during his medical, Bravo will complete his move by the end of the week.

Bravo, 33, was not thought to be set to complete his switch before Thursday.

However, Sky Sports sources claim that the keeper is flying into Manchester on Tuesday with a view to sealing the move as soon as possible.

The Chile international had been Barcelona's first-choice in goal following his July 2014 move from fellow La Liga side Real Sociedad.

The reigning Spanish champions, though, have agreed to the sale of their star man after agreeing a £10m move for Ajax shot stopper Jasper Cillessen.

Bravo is set to replace Joe Hart as Guardiola's other senior option between the sticks after Hart was told that he was not part of the Spanish manager's plans at Eastlands.

Willy Caballero was preferred to Hart for City's opening three matches of the season, and the 29-year-old is now expected to depart in search of first-team football.

Everton were considered to be the front-runners in the battle to secure Hart's signature, with Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund also rumoured to be interested.

However, the Toffees are believed to have baulked at the £7m fee it would take to bring Hart to Goodison Park on loan.

That loan fee would also cover Hart's £135,000-a-week wages - compensation that Blues boss Ronald Koeman is said to have doubts over.

It now remains to be seen where Hart's immediate future will lie if such speculation proves to be true.

Bravo has made 75 appearances for Barcelona since moving to the Nou Camp, winning six trophies during that time.
