Arsenal Target Mauro Icardi Pens New 5-Year Contract With Inter Milan

"?Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, who has been the subject of intense transfer interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, has signed a new five-year deal at Nerazzurri, keeping him at the San Siro until 2022, according to "?reports


The 23-year-old striker looked odds on to join a Premier League club this summer, with "?his agent reportedly flying to London to speak with Arsenal representatives earlier this month.

"?But the talented Argentine forward has now dismissed all speculation, by pledging his future to Inter, who named him as club-captain last summer.


Icardi, who scored 16 goals in 29 appearances last campaign, will earn 4.5m euros per-season, which is not including performance-related bonuses. 


He also has a £95m release clause in the new contract, which will effectively deter Arsenal and co for at least another few seasons.

The news will come as a huge blow to Arsenal, who are desperately in pursuit of a new striker before the transfer window slams shut at the end of August.
