"?Arsenal have been dealt a huge transfer blow as they look to recover from a disappointing 4-3 opening day defeat to Liverpool, following Alexandre Lacazette's decision to commit his immediate future to Lyon.
"?Reported in the Express, the French striker ruled out the possibility of completing a switch to north London despite the club's increased interest in the forward following last Saturday's Premier League opener.
Arsene Wenger was heavily criticised for his failure to name a recognised striker for Sunday's clash with Liverpool, as Alexis Sanchez was deployed as the front man.
The Gunners appear to have been inactive in the transfer window once more, being labelled as reactive rather than proactive after Wenger conceded that his side may not have been ready for last week's clash.
The Emirates faithful have been desperate to see a marquee name arrive at the club this summer after Wenger's men registered as the lowest scorers of the top four finishers last season.
Lacazette was touted as the man to end the club's woes, after netting a hat trick on the same day that the Gunners fell to the 4-3 defeat.
However in an attempt to pour water on the move, Lacazette insisted that he will remain with the French club this year as he set his sights for the season ahead.
"From a personal standpoint, I will like to pass the threshold of 30 goals this season.
"There will be no departure. Everything is going well here at OL," he stated.
Tied to the club until 2019 under his current contract, Lyon are keen for their star man to remain a part of their future and are interested in extending his deal.

Meanwhile for the Gunners it looks like another move for a striker that has failed to materialise after high profile moves for Jamie Vardy, Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain also failed to come off.
