Chelsea football club will confirm the capture of highly rated Ghana defender Abdul-Baba Rahman after their crunch encounter against Manchester City on Sunday, Ghana’s leading football website GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The 21-year-old passed his medical for Chelsea at a hospital in Paris on Friday and now awaits his Visa to travel to the UK to complete the deal.

The former Asante Kotoko man has been signed to replace Brazilian Filipe Luis who has returned to Spanish side Athletico Madrid after failing to make the grades at Stamford Bridge.

GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm that Jose Mourinho wants his side to concentrate on their weekend game against title contenders Manchester City before returning to the transfer market to finalize the deal.

Despite coming in as a back up to Spaniard Cesar Azipilicueta the Ghana international is expected to stake a claim of making the left back position his own after a not so convincing start to the season from Azipilicueta.
