Hoffenheim defender Kevin Akpoguma has urged his teammates to build on their recent victory over Holstein Kiel as they prepare to face Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Bundesliga club ended an 11-game winless streak with a 3-1 win over Kiel last weekend, and Akpoguma believes the momentum from that victory can be carried into Thursday's match against Spurs.
"We are really looking forward to the game," Akpoguma said on the club's official website. "There is a lot at stake, we have to try everything to make the game a success.
"The victory in Kiel brought positive energy to the team. We want to take that with us now. I am really looking forward to the game and see it as a big challenge."
Hoffenheim host Spurs at the PreZero Arena on Thursday, with Akpoguma emphasizing the importance of the match. "It's not a bonus game for us, rather a very important game for which we have big plans."
