After weeks of uncertainty, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has officially confirmed that their penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana will be staged at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban next month, Nigeriasoccernet.com can confirm.
ZIFA had initially explored hosting the match in Botswana but opted for Durban due to Zimbabwe’s lack of a CAF-approved stadium for international fixtures.
The Moses Mabhida Stadium, renowned for its modern facilities and large seating capacity, was considered the most suitable alternative to ensure a vibrant atmosphere for the high-stakes clash.
With both Zimbabwe and South Africa still in contention for a spot at the global showpiece, the encounter in Durban is expected to be decisive in shaping Group C’s qualification race.
