Nigerian forward Austine Chingozie Iheanacho has been signed by Zambia Top Division Big Boys Zanaco FC.

Iheanacho joined the Bankers as a free agent and penned down a one-year contract.

“We are pleased to announce the signing of Nigerian striker Austine Chigozie Iheanacho. Iheanacho is joining us on a one-year deal as a free agent from Ahli Khartoum SC of Sudan. Iheanacho arrives to boost our attack following recent departures in that department. Iheanancho has spent most of his football career in Sudan where he played for Ayl Arab, Shebab Nasri, Ahli Merowe and Hilal Fasher.”

The Nigerian striker joins the Bankers just a few days after the arrival of Super Eagles Legend Emmanuel Amunike as a consultant for the technical bench.

“With the coming of Austine, given his experience and past glory in the Sudanese league. We believe that he will add value to the club,” Zanaco Football Club Chief Executive Officer Mr Modest Hamalabbi says.

Iheanacho says he is happy to be in Zambia and that he is here to work.

“I’m so grateful to be in Zambia and Zanaco. I Am so happy. I have watched the Zambian Super League on DSTV mostly Zanaco and Red Arrows,” he said.

“I came here to work and I will deliver what I came for and as a striker, I need to score goals.”
