Nigeria Super Eagles defender, Zaidu Sanusi will be out of the rest of the season following an ACL injury, Nigeriasoccernet.com can confirm.
FC Porto confirmed the major injury suffered by Zaidu, who was stretched out in the 37th minute of a 2-0 win by Porto over Estrella Da Amadora on Saturday night.
"Porto's official statement confirms devastating news for Zaidu Sanusi. The Super Eagles' left-back suffers a complete ACL and external lateral ligament rupture, ruling him out for the season."
The 2023 African Cup of Nations silver winning medalist has made just five appearances in the League this season with a goal to his name after he was sidelined for about three months in the first half of the season.
The 26-year-old will now miss major international games including 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin in June.
It is a huge setback for Porto's title chase and their upcoming UEFA Champions League clash against Arsenal.
