Lens will have to pay €25,000 to the league for every match overseen by interim head coach Yannick Cahuzac, who does not yet hold the required coaching licence.
The French club dismissed Dino Toppmoller after what the board considered an underwhelming start to the championship campaign.
Cahuzac, a former Bastia legend, was promoted from his position as Toppmoller’s assistant to continue the work at Lens.
However, according to derbyderbyderby.it, Cahuzac does not currently possess a coaching licence. French football regulations allow him to take charge, but require Lens to pay a €25,000 fine into the league’s funds for each match he manages.
Lens are currently 10th in the French championship table.
