Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Granit Xhaka has called on Nigerian fans to be patient with striker Victor Boniface, who is yet to score his first goal for the Super Eagles, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Boniface, who has 11 caps for Nigeria, has struggled to find the back of the net, but Xhaka believes that adapting to the national team setup takes time.
"It's always difficult with the national team because you don't have a lot of time to adapt," Xhaka told Oma Sports TV.
"You don't have time to work on tactical stuff; you don't have every day with the same coach and players."
Xhaka, who also plays for Switzerland, has urged Nigerian fans to remain calm and supportive of Boniface.
"Stay calm because he is a great guy and great footballer, he will give a lot to Nigeria to make people happy for sure," he added.
