Wrexham have secured the permanent signing of goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo on a three-year contract, tying him to the club until the end of the 2026-27 season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The 22-year-old had a successful loan spell at Wrexham from Arsenal in 2023-24, making 40 appearances and keeping 16 clean sheets as the team achieved promotion to League One.
Okonkwo, a free agent after his release from Arsenal, becomes manager Phil Parkinson's first new signing of the summer.
Despite interest from other clubs, Okonkwo has chosen to commit to Wrexham, who are preparing for their first League One campaign in over 15 years.
The goalkeeper's impressive performances last season earned him a place in the League Two Team of the Season, alongside Wrexham teammate Elliot Lee.
Arthur Okonkwo, born in London to Nigerian parents, holds dual eligibility and can represent either England or Nigeria at the international level, despite having previously featured for England's youth teams.
His Nigerian heritage makes him a potential candidate for the Super Eagles, Nigeria's national team.
