Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi was on the score sheet as Leicester City recorded a vital win at home over West Brom to go back top of the English Championship, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Ndidi struck his 5th of the season with the Foxes opener as they edged the Baggies 2-1 at the King Power Stadium to win the Midlands derby and end successive defeats.

The Nigerian scored in the 22nd minute after  Wout Faes sent a cross into the box which was clipped on by Jamie Vardy but the West Brom ‘keeper Alex Palmer palmed it into the path of Ndidi who hit the ball into the net.

Vardy could have doubled score at the end of the first half, but his penalty was missed.

He made up for the miss on 65 minute with a header and despite Jed Wallace halving the deficit 14 minutes from time, the Foxes remained on course for the 3 points.

Josh Maja was a late substitute for the Baggies.

Leicester City are now first with 91 points while West Brom are still in the mix for play off in 5th place with 72 points after 43 matches.
