Werder Bremen Felix Agu on radar of top European clubs - report

Published on: 04 July 2025

Werder Bremen could lose one of their most prized assets in Felix Agu this season, with interest from top sides after a breakout season which earned him his first international call-up, winning the London Unity Cup as the German giant narrowly missed out on European football, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

It has been reported that the left-back is wanted by multiple European clubs, but none of them have presented a formal offer, although there have been contacts with the player and his representatives.

Agu, who extended his contract with Werder Bremen last year, remains tied to the club until the summer of 2027. Although he had a release clause valued between €8–10 million that was valid until May 31st, no club opted to trigger it during that window.

As a result, any potential move for the 25-year-old will now require a higher fee, making a transfer significantly more expensive than it would have been earlier as per BILD.

Clemens Fritz, Werder's head of football in a recent interview with DeichStube spoke glowingly of the Super Eagles, admitting that they have no interest in selling but that can change if an enticing offer does come in.
