Medeama midfielder Malik Akowuah believes his side was superior in punishing 'lazy' Asante Kotoko to clinch the 2015 MTN FA Cup title.
Goals from Akwasi Donsu and Bismark Oppong were enough to see the Yellow and Mauves emerge successful once more again over Kotoko in the FA Cup final in Sekondi on Sunday.
The victory was however without drama as referee Joseph Lamptey disallowed a perfect goal which would have drawn Kotoko level with the game at 2-1.
Kotoko officials remain upset with the wrong call of the referee and believe that single wrong call robbed them off victory on the night.
But Medeama midfielder Malik Akowuah believes his side were deserved winners for their superiority over Kotoko who he says were lazy.
"We were highly motivated and well prepared for this game," he said after the game.
"The game plan the coach put out was perfect and we also executed it well.
"With how well we were prepared, if any opponent comes up and are lazy, they will have a problem.
"I think Kotoko were a bit lazy and that is how come we've won this game."
Medeama aside clinching the giant trophy received a cash prize of GHS 40,000.
They will also be representing Ghana in next season's CAF Confederation Cup for which they will receive a further GHS 50,000 to prepare.
