Head coach of Enyimba International FC of Aba Kadiri Ikhana has said that the Glo Premier League title is now a straight fight between his team and second-placed Warri Wolves FC.
With just four matches each to go, and with Enyimba leading Wolves by three points, Ikhana is of the view that it is Enyimba’s title to lose, adding that with hard work and commitment, the Aba giants will be champions at the end of the league season
“We are taking the remaining matches one after the other,” Ikhana told Completesportsnigeria.com. “It is not going to be easy but I think we are on course to winning the league title, although it is not a done deal yet. Having worked so hard all through, it will not augur well to lose at this stage.
“My boys know the importance of winning the league title and they cannot afford to lose focus at this point when the government and people of Abia state are warming up to regain the league title.”
On the goalless draw with Nasarawa United on Wednesday, Ikhana said it was better than a loss, stressing that the hosts were lucky to escape defeat. He added that Enyimba will return home to Aba correct the flaws noticed in the Nasarawa game.
