WCQ: South Africa land Uyo set to train later today

South Africa’s Bafana Bafana have arrived Uyo a day before their big World Cup qualifying clash against Nigeria, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The South African squad and officials landed Nigeria on Wednesday evening but were stranded at the airport in Port Harcourt due nationwide strike in Nigeria.

Realizing local flight to Uyo will not be accessible, Hugo Broos’ side travelled by road from Port Harcourt.

Arriving Uyo in a rainy weather in the afternoon today (Thursday) the team is expected to have a training session later in the evening.

Meanwhile, the 2025 FIFA World Cup qualifier is scheduled the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo by 8pm.
