WCQ: Ibrahim Olawoyin ready to prove himself if given chance

Super Eagles newly invited player, Ibrahim Olawoyin has expressed delight at being invited to the team and he is looking forward to making his debut count if given the nod, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

Olawoyin who plays for Çaykur Rizepor in Turkey replaces Bayer Leverkusen forward Nathan Tella who opts out of the World Cup qualifying with South Africa due to personal reasons.

The former Rangers International midfielder relishes the prospect of playing for Nigeria and cannot wait to make the opportunity count if it comes.

He expresses his delight at the call to the team, describing it as a privilege he appreciates while speaking the team's media.

"I feel so amazing. I feel great about this, it's big privilege for me which I will cherish for life. I really appreciate this and it is a great feeling for me."

The attacking player anticipates the coach George Finidi call for him to play a part in the game the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, promising to do his best if it happens.

"Not really, it came as a surprise to me. I'm so happy it finally came and I will be looking forward to get a chance if given to me, try to prove myself.

"I will surely give my best because it is a privilege wearing this jersey because you're representing the whole nation. So, I will surely give my best."

Olawoyin and his teammates go into the game on Friday at the Godswil Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo with victory in mind to put them in good stead of qualification after two disappointing draws in matchday one and two.
