Warri Wolves hold Inter Lagos to maintain unbeaten run

Warri Wolves continued their impressive form in the 2024/2025 Nigeria National League, remaining unbeaten after the first stanza of the league, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Seasiders played out a 1-1 draw against The Pride of Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Tuesday to remain on course for a return to top-flight football.

Smarting from winning the Lagos State President Federation Cup, Inter Lagos showed intent to get all points at their home ground.

Though a cagey affair it was, the hosts edged proceedings with Uchenna coming closest to scoring after 29 minutes of play.

Othuke also had his chances to score, but none were threatening. The visitors had their own chances toward the end of the first phase as goalkeeper Bala Favour had to make two good saves to keep the scoreline goalless at half time.

Inter Lagos pushed for a goal in the second half, and soon, Aroyameh was awarded a free kick at the edge of the box after he was fouled in the 57th minute.

Captain Othuke stepped up to dispatch the kick nicely into the net and give the host a desired lead, but the visitors restored parity 4 minutes later to the chagrin of the home fans.

The score remained the same, with the two sides sharing the spoils at the end of the game.

With the result, Warri Wolves stay second with 20 points after 10 matches while Inter Lagos are fourth with 16 points in Conference A as the first stanza comes to an end.
