Wagner was offered the job, but admirably rejected it in order to remain with the Championship side.

The 45-year-old's sway has helped the club to fourth place in the league standings and promotion is definitely a possibility. But given his team's form, Wolfsburg - who are languishing in 13th spot in the Bundesliga - have tried snatching him away.

Huddrsfield's 24-year-old striker Joe Lolley is out injured at the moment, leaving him with plenty of time for social banter. The forward was made the subject of a cheeky tweet by @SoccerManager which read "Who needs to manage #Draxler when you have Joe Lollie?"

@SoccerManager Apologies to Joe Lolley for the incorrect spelling! Shocking!

Lolley responded with an amazing comeback...

Has Draxler done it on a cold winter night away at Peterborough, doubt it https://t.co/K74kPHyBp7

Don't think he has, mate.
