After a rigorous training stint in Abuja, Nigeria's national under-17 team coach, Garba, has finalized the squad for the upcoming WAFU U-17 tournament. Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The team, comprising 19 players and officials, is set to depart for Accra, Ghana, this Saturday.
The team screening and training started with 51 talents in Abuja got reduced for various yardstick with the MRI process chopping off quiet a lot of the players.
The defending champions, known as the Eaglets, will kick off their title defense against Burkina Faso at the University Stadium on Thursday, May 16.
Subsequent matches are scheduled against Niger and Togo on Sunday, May 19, and Wednesday, May 22, respectively.
