WAFU B: CAF to conduct doping test training

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will host a regional workshop for doping control officers in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

The three-day event scheduled for October 14-16, will be officially opened by Burkina Faso's Minister of Sport, Mr. Somda Roland, and the President of the Burkinabe Football Federation, Colonel Major Oumarou Sawadogo.

This is the second CAF workshop of its kind this year, following a similar event held in Cairo earlier.

The three-day gathering will be led by a team of experienced medical professionals, including internationally recognized doctors, health practitioners, and CAF medical staff, headed by CAF Medical Manager Dr. Sidiki Boubakary.

The workshop will include training on the MODOC System, a digital platform for planning and executing anti-doping measures used in CAF competitions since 2024.

MODOC represents a significant advancement in CAF's fight against doping in African football. By empowering anti-doping officers with this technology, CAF aims to curb the scourge of doping.

The benefits of this workshop will extend beyond the WAFU B Zone. Through ongoing engagement, improvements, and the implementation of similar workshops in other CAF zones, CAF will see positive impacts across the continent and help protect the image of African football.
