Vinicius Junior handed four-match ban and will miss Barcelona clash

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has been suspended for four matches after being sent off against Villarreal in La Liga.

The Brazil international was dismissed during Real Madrid’s 1-0 win after pulling an opposing player’s hair. The incident did not occur during a contest for the ball.

The disciplinary committee imposed a two-match suspension for that offence, with the punishment increased from one match because of the circumstances in which it took place.

Vinicius Junior was given a further two-match ban for aggressive conduct after receiving the red card, taking his total suspension to four matches.

He will miss Real Madrid’s La Liga fixtures against Sevilla, Barcelona, Racing and Valencia. His absence includes the forthcoming El Clasico against Barcelona.
