Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior is highly unlikely to be available for the club’s next meeting with Barcelona after being sent off against Villarreal.
According to journalist Mario Cortegana, Vinicius is expected to receive a suspension of at least two matches following his dismissal in Real Madrid’s 1-0 victory in the eighth round of the league season.
The ban could be extended to three matches because of the Brazilian’s aggressive reaction to the red card. Vinicius was dismissed after grabbing an opponent by the hair.
Real Madrid are due to face Barcelona one round after their home fixture against Sevilla, meaning Vinicius is likely to miss the El Clasico if the expected suspension is confirmed.
On 14 October, Real Madrid will travel to Italy to play Roma in the second round of the Champions League. Kick-off is scheduled for 22:00 Moscow time.
