Vincent Enyeama, the esteemed former Nigeria goalkeeper, has expressed his willingness to make a comeback to the national team fold if given the opportunity, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Renowned as one of Nigeria's finest goalkeepers, Enyeama, now 41, boasts a remarkable record of 101 appearances for the Super Eagles.
His retirement in 2015 amid controversy stemming from a disagreement with former head coach Sunday Oliseh marked the end of an illustrious international career.
Speaking exclusively to Lagos Talks, as revealed by Daily Post, Enyeama disclosed his openness to returning to the national team setup, stating, "Becoming a goalkeeper coach, first of all, I'm not yet certified. If they want me to be like Zidane, who was not yet certified, but Real Madrid had faith in him, it can happen."
Asserting his unwavering allegiance to Nigeria, Enyeama emphasized, "I can never say no to my country. I have always said that. I can never say no to Nigeria. I will bring my experience over the years in Europe, and we will do it. But they have to call me first."
Also known for his goals, the charismatic and reliable Nigerian stalwart found the back of the net on 20 occasions throughout his career, with ten goals registered during his tenure with Enyimba and eight while donning the colors of Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Furthermore, he received esteemed accolades such as the Prix Marc-Vivien Foé and the title of the Greatest African Goalkeeper of all Time by IFFHS back in 2023.
