Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze can leave Villarreal for a different league according to club manager Unai Emery.

The speedy winger has been in good form lately and he has been linked Spanish champions Real Madrid and English Premier League outfit Everton among others.

Chukwueze came off the bench to win a penalty for Villarreal as they drew 1-1 draw with Madrid in a La Liga match last weekend.

Emery, who is a former Arsenal manager, is happy with the 21-year-old’s progress having netted twice for Villarreal from 11 matches across all competitions this term.

“We are very happy with Samuel Chukwueze, he’s growing up with us at this club,” Emery said on Goal.

“His performance is getting better little by little but above all, we want to achieve with him our performance with his skills and capacity.”

The left-footed player is also a key player for Nigeria under coach Gernot Rohr having netted three times in 17 international matches for the Super Eagles.

“He’s young and has a very good future but first, he’s with us trying to get better with his performances for us and the national team,” he added.

“In the future, he can go to another league to grow up more, but I think he’s very happy with us and every match he plays, he tries to give the best performance.”

He joined Villarreal from Nigeria’s Diamond Football Academy in 2017 and his contract with the Yellow Submarine is due to expire in June 2023.
