Ho Chi Minh City: Vietnam remained unbeaten after a 3-0 win over Myanmar, while Brunei Darussalam ended their 2017 ASEAN Futsal Championship campaign on a triumphant note, beating the Philippines 5-0 at the Phu Tho Stadium on Monday.

After their third wins respectively on Matchday Four, Vietnam and Myanmar advanced to the semi-finals but the Group A top spot was still up for grabs.

Both sides had their share of possession and attempts on goal, but they showed caution in their offence.

Phung Trong Luan, however, opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a cracking shot, courtesy of Tran Van Vu’s corner pass.

Myanmar, who knocked Indonesia out of contention on Sunday, tried to level proceedings but the Vietnam defence denied their every endeavour.

Naing Ye Kyaw came close in the 25th minute but Vietnamese goalkeeper Nguyen Van Huay was quick to block his shot.

Htay Myint’s side were definitely more aggressive and Myanmar even opted for power play tactics in the 30th minute which almost resulted in several goals.

Pyae Phyo Maung’s bicycle kick in the 38th minute was eye catching but it struck the upright.

Their power play, however, backfired when Ngo Ngoc Son intercepted a pass to shoot the ball into an unguarded goalmouth, before Nguyen scored with a long range effort to secure top spot in Group A. ?

Philippines and Brunei, who were already out of contention to reach the knockout stage, entered the match looking to finish the tournament with a win after suffering consecutive losses, and they were evenly matched from the get-go.

Brunei ended their goal drought with Maziri Maidin scoring their first goal of the tournament in the seventh minute with his shot from the second penalty spot.

Muhammad Naqib doubled their advantage after the break in the 24th minute, before Faiz Hasnan added a third with a boot in from close range five minutes later.

Azim Boll Hassan etched his name on the scoresheet courtesy of Raimi's through pass into the box.

A minute from time, Faiz scored his second to hand Md Yunos' side a happy ending to their AFF Futsal Championship campaign.
