Patrick Vieira has confirmed Mickael Marsiglia and Seydina Issa Aidara as his assistants as Senegal begin preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The pair will support Vieira as he starts work with the Lions of the Teranga, with Marsiglia appointed first assistant and Aidara taking the role of second assistant.

Marsiglia, a former midfielder, has built his coaching career over several years and is regarded for his analytical and tactical expertise. The Frenchman has managed AS Cannes and also worked for OGC Nice as a scout and recruiter.

Aidara brings extensive experience of Senegalese football to the staff. The Senegalese coach spent 13 years with FC Diambars, where he developed his coaching credentials. He has also served as assistant coach of Senegal’s U23 and U17 teams.

The Senegalese Football Federation has brought together the two coaches to provide complementary expertise in the selection of players based in Europe and those competing domestically.

The combination is expected to help build cohesion between Senegal’s expatriate players and those playing in the local league as preparations for the CAN 2027 qualifying campaign continue.
