Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has expressed disappointment following his team’s 3-3 draw with Dynamo Kyiv in their UEFA Europa League clash on Tuesday night, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.
The Turkish Super Lig champions squandered a two-goal lead in a keenly contested encounter, with Osimhen scoring Galatasaray's second goal from the penalty spot just seven minutes before the hour mark.
Reflecting on the result, the Nigerian international acknowledged the team’s shortcomings while praising Dynamo Kyiv’s resilience. “We are disappointed. We thought we deserved more. We need to take responsibility as a team. I think we all made mistakes. They also fought well and scored goals,” Osimhen told the club’s official website.
The 26-year-old emphasized the importance of learning from their errors and improving in subsequent matches. “There were two consecutive draws. Now we need to work and learn from our mistakes. We need to focus on the upcoming matches,” he said.
Highlighting the need for better team synergy, Osimhen added, “We need to understand each other better at certain moments. If I’m going strong, I look at who I can pass to and who I can receive the pass from. We could have scored more goals today. We need to learn from our mistakes and be better.”
Osimhen’s performance in the Europa League this season has been impressive, with four goals in five appearances. However, Galatasaray will need to regroup quickly to maintain their campaign momentum.
