In a historic moment for Bayer Leverkusen, the club clinched their inaugural Bundesliga title with a resounding 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen at the BayArena, reports.

This victory marked the end of Bayern Munich's 11-year dominance in the German top-flight.

Under the leadership of manager Xabi Alonso, Leverkusen has emerged as an unstoppable force, remaining unbeaten across all competitions this season.

Victor Boniface, a pivotal figure in Leverkusen's success despite a stint on the sidelines due to injury, attributed their triumph to Alonso's astute tactical acumen and the squad's remarkable depth.

"The coach reads the games very well," remarked Boniface. "Just look at the match against West Ham in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final first leg: both scorers are players who came on. Xabi Alonso knows what the team needs during the match to perform well."

Highlighting the collective effort within the squad, Boniface emphasized, "We have a group of 20-25 players, not 11, and everyone gives 100% whenever they get their chance."

Despite enduring a three-month absence due to an adductor injury, the 23-year-old striker remains Leverkusen's top scorer, tallying an impressive 18 goals and 10 assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.

Boniface who scored in the first leg of the encounter against West Ham United has contributed five goals and one assist in 6 appearances for Leverkusen in the Europa League.
