Victor Boniface bags brace as Leverkusen cruise to big win

Victor Boniface has opened his 2024/25 Bundesliga goal account, notching brace in Bayer 04 Leverkusen's away win against TSG Hoffenheim, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Eagles forward was involved in the first goal after giving an unselfish pass to Terrier who colly slotted past the goalkeeper with an easy finish in the 16th minute much to the uproar of the travelling away fans.

He then scored a beautiful solo goal in the 29th minute to give Xabi Alonso's side a two goal lead, not only did he score his first goal of the season in the league but also the second as he was involved in every attacking moves for Leverkusen in the 1-4 route of Kevin Akpoguma's Hoffenheim.

As the defending champions return to winning ways, Leverkusen’s counterattacking prowess led by Boniface was on again full display in the match.

The victory extended their streak of scoring at least twice in nine of their last 11 away league games. As a result, Leverkusen moved back into the top four, while Hoffenheim’s 22-match home clean sheet streak came to an end.
