Van Dijk hungry for more

Liverpool's recent exploits have made them hungry for more success, according to Virgil van Dijk.

The Reds recovered from the heartache of finishing second to Manchester City in the Premier League to win the Champions League courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in Madrid.

That success came 12 months after losing in the European showpiece to Real Madrid, a result Jurgen Klopp's side undoubtedly learned from as they stifled Spurs in the final to lift the trophy for the sixth time in the club's history.

We are all now hungry for more success and will continue to give all we can.

The Premier League title remains the primary goal for Liverpool and they are 9/4 to top the standings in 2019-20, with City 4/6 to retain their domestic crown.

Having won the league twice in Scotland while at Celtic, Van Dijk has plenty of experience of winning silverware and is likely to play a critical role in his side's title challenge next term.

The 27-year-old has taken to social media to assess the recent campaign and says their performances have only made the Reds more desperate to succeed.

He wrote: "I've had a few days to reflect now at the end of what's been an unbelievable season.

"We achieved great things at Liverpool this season as a team and I feel proud to be part of such an incredible club with this group of players. To be European champions is a dream come true!

"We are all now hungry for more success and will continue to give all we can to achieve that."

Liverpool are 7/1 to retain the Champions League, with Barcelona 6/1 and Manchester City 5/1.
