Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni have put their reported Real Madrid dressing-room dispute behind them, according to journalist Javier Herraiz, who is close to the club.

The incident shocked the football world in the spring when it was reported that the two players had clashed inside the dressing room. Valverde, the Uruguay midfielder, was said to have needed stitches after the confrontation.

Valverde denied that a fight had taken place, insisting he had simply hit a table during an argument. Real Madrid nevertheless fined both players a substantial amount.

Herraiz has now said there are no longer any problems between Valverde and Tchouameni, suggesting the dispute has been resolved.

Real Madrid beat Inter 2-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday.
