Uzoho’s May Miss Congo Friendly

Deportivo La Coruna’s Team B, Deportivo Fabril have confirmed Francis Uzoho’s inclusion in the Super Eagles’ 30-man provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but he may miss the pre-World Cup friendly against DR Congo over club commitment.

Uzoho is one of four goalkeepers shortlisted by Gernot Rohr in his list which was released on Monday.

The other goalkeepers are Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel and Dele Ajiboye.

“Francis is shortlisted among the four goalkeepers who are part of Nigeria’s pre-selection for the World Cup 2018,” the club wrote on their verified Twitter handle on Monday.

Meanwhil, Uzoho may miss Nigeria’s pre-World international friendly match against DR Congo scheduled for the 28th of May, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He is expected to be in action for his Spanish third division side, RCD Deportivo Fabril who will face Extremadura UD in a two legged promotional play-off round.

RCD Deportivo Fabril will face Extremadura in the first leg to hold either on 19th or 20th of May with the return leg billed for the 26th or 27th of May.

The Nigeria international has so far kept 15 clean sheets for RC Deportivo Fabril this season in 25 games.

The 19 year old shot-stopper has conceded 17 goals so far this term for RC Deportivo Fabril who finished second in the Spanish Segunda B division.

In the other promotional play-off clash Athletic Club will face UE Cornella.

Uzoho was in goal for the Super Eagles in their two friendly games against Poland and Serbia in March.

He made his debut for the Eagles in a friendly against Argentina on November, 2017.
