Under-20 World Cup: Veteran goalie Richard Kingson backs Mutawakilu for success

Former Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Olele Kingson is tipping Seidu Mutawakilu to silence his critics in New Zealand.

The young goalkeeper, despite being a key member of the team, had a tough time at the African Youth Championships and was dropped by Sellas Tetteh in the knock out stages of the Africa Youth Championships in Senegal.

Kingson, who was once the team’s goalkeeper’s trainers, is backing him to recover from the happenings at the African Youth Championships and succeed with the Satellites team at the World Cup.

“It’s a privilege to live with an old person in life. Mutawakilu is young and good so in difficult moments he has to get encouragement.

"I see him putting all the pressure behind and shining. Mutawakilu will do great things if he gets the right direction and I see that in him,” Kingson said in an interview with Citi Sports.

The Satellites have already arrived in New Zealand where they will step up preparations ahead of the tournament later this month.
