Uganda’s Cranes lead DR Congo 1-0 at half-time in the teams’ first friendly test, played behind closed doors at Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium.
The Ugandans made the brighter start and took advantage of their first clear opportunity in the seventh minute. Bogere finished a swift attack to beat the Congolese defence and catch the Leopards cold.
DR Congo attempted to respond and gradually sought to impose more structure on their play, but they lacked the precision needed in the final phase to find an equaliser before the interval.
The coaching staff now have 15 minutes to make the necessary tactical adjustments as DR Congo look to overturn the deficit in the second half.
