It was another night of mixed reactions for Nigerian players in Europe as the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League took centre stage on Thursday.
Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho had a performance for the ages with an outstanding performance that earned him the man of the match award despite his team's loss.
Uzoho was outstanding in goal for Omonia Nicosia making twelve saves, but couldn’t prevent them from a one nil stoppage time defeat to Man United.
It was a dream come through for Uzoho who is a Manchester United fan and he says he happy with the team's performance.
"I am not disappointed though because we had a great game, but I would have preferred at least to get a point because it is not an easy stadium to play in, I am happy in general."
Uzoho was brought into the match after first choice goalkeeper was injured.
Victor Boniface scored twice to help RUSG picked up a hard-earned draw in the UEL.
Ex-U-20 star, Boniface continued to show his predatory instinct in front of goal after another two goals for Union St Gilloise against SC Braga.
It was his third goal in the competition for Union St Gilloise from 4 games.
He leveled up for the Belgian side who were at home to SC Braga in the 20th minutes after Vitor Olivera put Braga ahead in the 15th minute.
Olivera made it three as he completed his hattrick, but Dante Vanzeir scored for USG yo make it 2-3 before Boniface completed the comeback in the 62nd minute.
