Nigeria International, Victor Osimhen, is currently being treated like an egg by Napoli boss, Luciano Spalletti, as he has been left out of the traveling squad to Amsterdam.
Osimhen suffered a muscle injury in Napoli’s 4-1 win in the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Wednesday, 7th September and has been out of action ever since.
The former Wolfsburg man is currently in recovery mode but as earlier reported will not be forced back into action by Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti.
Napoli will be without the Super Eagles Star when they battle Calvin Bassey’s Ajax in a matchday three UEFA Champions League fixture, today, Tuesday.
According to the club’s Doctor, the former Lille man isn’t expected to be back in competitive action earlier than October 9, where Napoli will face Cyriel Dessers’ Cremonese in the Serie A.
The Nigerian striker has been getting involved in training(mainly personal training) and is working in the gym at the Club’s SSCN Konami Training Center.
The team from Naples currently sit top of group A; ahead of the Reds of Liverpool, Ajax and Rangers with six points.
Victory today against the team from Amsterdam would see them needing just a draw against Ajax, when they square off again next week at home, to qualify for the knockout phases of the Champions League.
