Malian U20 Coach Fanyeri Diarra believes his side’s comprehensive 3-0 victory against Ghana was down to the detailed preparation ahead of the game.
Fenyeri, saw his side put in their most convincing performance in the competition so far which earned them a quarter final berth at the expense of fellow West African giants Ghana.
The Les Aigles side thumped the Black Satellites by 3 unanswered goals and Coach Fenyeri says they deserved all they got due to the effort kept in preparing the team.
“We were extremely well prepared to face Ghana today and did exactly what we set out to do,” Coach Fenyeri Diarra told FIFA.com
“My team kept things very compact and we delivered a great performance.”
“The players in this squad are able to put my tactical ideas into practice, so I’m very happy about that and delighted that we’ve made the quarter-finals.
“We’ve got a good mix in this side; some of the lads still play in Africa while others come from Europe. The European players have brought some superb experience with them and have lifted the team to a much stronger level.”
