The Nigeria U-23 male team played out a goalless draw against Guinea U-23 in their African Cup of Nations qualify at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

There was nothing to choose between the two sides as the match ended 0-0 after the Nigerian team couldn't not capitalise on the home advantage and the chances created.

Oguniyi and Makanjuola had attempt which either hit the bar or was saved by the goalkeeper in the first half.

In the second half, it was the away team that came close to scoring as Ousmane Camara saw his ball ricochet the bar.

Jonathan Alukwu produced what seemed the only shot on target for Nigeria in the half, but his strike was parried away by the goalkeeper.

The game was going to end goalless, but it ended with the Olympic Eagles depleted after defender Christopher Nwaeze was given a red card for a second bookable offence.

The second leg of the qualifier will be played in Rabat, Morocco on Tuesday.
