U-20 AFCON: Nigeria's opponent, Egypt continue preparations in Ismailia

Ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations, host nation, Egypt have intensified training for the tournament to be held in February, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

The young Pharaohs are camped in Ismailia and are undergoing the forms of training to get in shape for the tournament they have won four times.

Report from the camp tells that on Thursday, training sessions included "the use of GPS technology to track players, measure the effort and performance of each player, extract physical and vital rates and data, in addition to determining the positioning of players inside the stadium."

"Polar technology was used to identify heart rate, and the amount of calories consumed for each player, under the supervision of the team’s medical staff."

It was gathered that Hamada Anwar, Director of the Teams Department at the Egyptian Football Association was present to help boost the morale of the team.

Egypt are in group A alongside Nigeria, Senegal and Mozambique and will play Mozambique in their first match of the Nations Cup billed for 19th February – 11th March 2023.
