Zambia U-17 coach, Ian Bakala believes the outcome of the game involving his team and Nigeria only if his boys have taken their chances, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Golden Eaglets at the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations defeated Zambia 1-0 courtesy a second half strike by Favour Daniel on Sunday.

Substitute Light Eke missed the chance to double Nigeria’s lead after he missed from the spot in stoppage time.

The Young Chipolopolo also had their own fair share of missed chances one of which include Emmanuel Nwanza’s shot hit the woodwork three minutes before the break.

“It is painful to lose a game like this, but it was a tough game. Credit to Nigeria for the win because they used their chance,” Bakala said in his interaction with the media after the game.

“When you are coming to the first game of the tournament, anything is possible,” he added.

The defeat placed Zambia third on the group B table going into the second group game against South Africa.
