Turkey: Ibrahim Olawoyin scores in Caykur Rizespor's big loss to Galatasaray

Nigeria's Ibrahim Olawoyin was on the score sheet, but his goal had little effect as his side, Çaykur Rizepor lost heavily to Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Olawoyin scores Rizespor's second goal as league giants, Galatasaray put them to 6-2 sword at the RAMS Park.

A rampaging Galatasaray team were into a comfortable lead at the end of the first half with a 4-1 score line before scoring 2 more goals in the second half to take the day.

Derrick Köhn opened score on 9 minutes before Lucas Torreira doubled the lead for the hosts on 31 minutes.

Casper Hojer Nelsen pulled one back for Rizepor 7 minutes before half time, but Kerem Demirbay scored a brace on 40 and 45 minutes to give Gala a comfortable lead at the end of the half.

In the second half, Olawoyin reduce the deficit on 61 minute, but Demirbay scored his hattrick on 64 minute from the penalty spot to restore the 3-goal lead.

Mauro Icardi put the icing on the cake 5 minutes to the end of normal time to give the hosts a resounding victory which keeps them top with 78 points after 29 matches while Çaykur Rizepor are 7th with 39 points.

Meanwhile, Olawoyin who played for 90 minutes now has 4 goals to his name in the league this season after 27 matches. His compatriot, Babajide Akintola  played for 60 minutes for Rizepor.
