Sporting KC announced on Thursday that midfielder Jake Davis has signed a homegrown deal with the club. The contract runs until 2023, with a 2024 club option.
Davis, 19, had seven assists in 38 games for Sporting Kansas City II in the USL Championship. This season, he is the SKC II leader in assists, chances created, and tackles, and he can also play right back. In 2019, he was named to the United States U-17 roster.
Davis is the club's 19th homegrown player and the 12th academy product currently on the active squad. He came to the academy from Michigan in 2017.
With 14 games remaining, Sporting KC is in second place in the Western Conference with 38 points, eight points behind the Supporters' Shield-leading New England Revolution.
