Newcastle United is allegedly trying to recruit Leicester City's Hamza Choudhury on a season-long loan. The Magpies' late-season push kept them in the Premier League, and Steve Bruce will no doubt be anxious to make life a bit easier for himself this time around.

The signing of Joe Willock from Arsenal will help, but even the most optimistic Newcastle supporter would admit that the team still has to be strengthened.

Thankfully, the transfer window is still open for the better part of a fortnight, with Bruce reportedly having players in mind who he'd want to bring to St. James' Park.

According to the Daily Mail, Bruce is lobbying for Newcastle to recruit Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury on loan. According to the article, Bruce admires Choudhury's work rate and has already thinking about how he would reduce his squad to fit the 23-year-old.

Choudhury is expected to be restricted to substitute appearances at the King Power Stadium, therefore he may be willing to join Newcastle in the hope of playing regular Premier League games.
