Leroy Fer seems to have played his last game for Feyenoord. The midfielder, who was used as a central defender in preparation for the new season, is in Turkey to complete a transfer.
This is reported by Voetbal International on Monday. Earlier in the evening, Johan Derksen already announced at Veronica Inside that Fer is currently in Turkey to negotiate with Alanyaspor.
Fer has not managed to secure a base place under the new trainer Arne Slot. Where Fer played his matches in the preparation at the back, that is no longer an option after the arrival of Gernot Trauner. A transfer seems to offer a solution. Alanyaspor hopes to be able to take over Fer from the Rotterdam club. The midfielder is now in Turkey to discuss a possible transfer.
The 31-year-old Fer returned to the old nest at Feyenoord in 2019, after periods at FC Twente, Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers.
