Nigerian footballer Stephen Odey is set to leave Danish Superliga club Randers FC at the end of December, bringing an end to his four-and-a-half-year spell with the club, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Odey, a former star of Nigerian team MFM FC, has been with Randers since the 2021/2022 season, initially joining on a loan deal that included an option to buy.
During his time at Randers, Odey has been praised for his consistency and work rate in attack, scoring 28 goals in 129 appearances.
He also earned the 3F Superliga Player of the Month award for October 2021, after a breakthrough run that included six goals across the league, Europa Conference League, and domestic cup.
Odey has expressed his appreciation for the club and its supporters, saying: "I have really enjoyed my time here in Randers. It has been a fantastic period with fantastic people at the club — from the staff and management to the players and fans".
Before joining Randers, Odey played for FC Zürich, Racing Genk, and Amiens SC, and his next destination is yet to be announced.
Odey moved from Nigerian club, MFM FC to FC Zurich for $350,000 in 2017, FC Zurich then sold him to KRC Genk for $4 million in 2019. He was Randers' record signing ($723,000).
