Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly ready to battle it out for the signature of Olympiakos centre-back Pape Abou Cisse.

The 26-year-old star is approaching his five-year anniversary as a Thrylos player – going out on loan to Saint-Etienne and Ajaccio in that time – and the defender has totalled 105 appearances for the Greek Super League outfit.

He has made a bright start to the new season with two goals from 13 games across all tournaments, while he has also collected three clean sheets in five top-flight matches alongside ex-Arsenal man Sokratis.

Cisse’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed from elsewhere, with the Daily Mail stating that the Gunners and the Reds are both weighing up approaches for the towering centre-back, whose contract with his club is due to run until the end of the 2023-24 term.

The report goes on to claim that Everton are also keeping tabs on Cisse’s performances, but Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently at the head of the queue for the four-time Senegal international.
