Still on a parent-club deal with AS Roma until June 2022, 32-year old French defensive midfielder Steven Nzonzi, once having parted ways with Stade Rennais, which he's been playing for on a season-long loan spell, is yet to find a new home. To this end, according to A Bola, Benfica management are growing more and more interested in signing him from Italian club.
A World Cup winner back in 2018, Nzonzi capped for Les Bleus until 2020, but didn't make it to the ongoing Euro campaign. Currently worth 8 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.de, Nzonzi used to play for a bunch more clubs, throughout his career, including Galatasaray, Sevillla FC (from which ranks managed to stand out the most), Stoke City, Blackburn Rovers, and Amiens.
