Bayern Munich have reportedly entered the race to sign Nigeria top nine Victor Osimhen, Nigeriasoccernet gathered.
With Lewandowski departure imminent, the club has turned its attention to one of the hottest young strikers in Europe.
According to a report by authoritative Italian publication, Corriere dello Sport,Nigeria international Osimhen has emerged as a target if Lewandowski does leave, with Barcelona the Poland captain’s preferred destination. However, as is always the case with a Napoli player, the striker will not be allowed to leave on the cheap. Notorious hardballer Aurelio de Laurentiis, the Napoli president, has placed a price tag of €100m on the 23-year-old, which will be prohibitive for a club as prudent as Bayern.
The Bavarians see Osimhen as a potential replacement for the Pole and have made contact with Napoli to signify their interest.
Osimhen has made a big impression at Napoli since his arrival two years ago from Ligue 1 outfit, Lille.
The Nigerian has netted 24 times and provided eight assists in 51 league appearances for the Partenopei.
Premier League clubs, Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United are also reportedly interested in the striker.
