Former Arsenal defender Daniel Jesse Boateng has joined Bosnian side FK Olimpic Sarajevo on a two-season-contract as a free agent, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The 22-year-old center-back officially signed the deal and completed his move to the Bosnia Premier League side last week.
Olimpic have confirmed the signing of the former versatile defender with head coach Mirza Varešanovi? expressing satisfaction with his signing.
"I think it's a great thing for our club and in general for BiH football player to come to us who passed school Arsenal. We have to get him a good recommendation, we reviewed video footage and decided to engage," he said after the defender was officially unveiled by the club.
We believe that it is a reinforcement, which he of course has yet to be proven. I believe that we made a mistake and I sincerely hope that it will demonstrate why Daniel was brought in Olimpic."
The Islanders are keen on Boateng's talent and believe he could help them improve their status in the Bosnian top-flight.
Boateng has had spells Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League and his other experiences include Swindon Town and Oxford United.
During his time at Arsenal, he failed to make a Premier League appearance for the first team despite captaining the reserves squad at some point.
